Problem
Lack of health tracking of the cattle
Poor synchronization of the team
Missing track of the herd’s quality in the cattle
Solutions
Real time reports
Help the system learn from ongoing activities, avoid missed tasks, and enhance communication.
Reminders & alerts
Boost communication and stay ahead of risks through proactive alerts and timely notifications.
Breeding tracking
Maintain detailed cattle profiles to manage breeding sources, improve cattle quality, and prevent mistakes.
Empathize
Research
Through secondary and qualitative research, I gained a deeper understanding of cattle herd management by exploring the challenges, decisions, and practices farmers face.
Through secondary research, I reviewed various resources, including videos, articles, documentaries, and interviews, which raised additional questions. When these questions couldn’t be answered through existing materials, I used AI (ChatGPT) to further enhance my understanding, helping uncover key practices and priorities in cattle management.

Brainstorming ideas
I analyzed what competitors were doing and used that as a basis to ideate a better solution. By reviewing their approaches, I identified areas where I could improve the design, incorporating features and ideas that could solve existing challenges and make the overall experience more effective. After brainstorming ideas, here are the ones I’ve chosen:
A system based on reports
Implementing responsive designs where mobile devices help deliver real-time alerts to users and enable the platform to log reports instantly. This ensures accuracy and precision in data management.
The system is report-based, acknowledging that farm management is influenced by various factors. This flexibility allows farmers to adapt to their unique conditions while enabling the platform to learn and adjust to each individual management style.
Use of AI
AI to alert farmers about concerns regarding the herd.
Alerts: Critical issues can be reported either by a farmer or the system. If the system detects that a notification hasn’t been completed within the designated time frame, an alert will be triggered. Additionally, if the herd shows signs of a disease or exhibits abnormal symptoms, an alert will also be raised.
Notifications: Certain tasks, like feeding, vaccinations, and hoof trimming, follow a pattern and repeat over time. I want to create a system where the user can report an action (e.g., grazing) and set a reminder for when it needs to be done again, based on their knowledge. For example, if I move my herd to a grazing area that is X hectares, the system will calculate when I need to move them to another area based on the number of cattle and the size of the land.
Independency
Not having to depend on any other device other than this platform.
Productivity
Being able to create reports for a single animal or multiple animals at once, based on the cattle, to save time and be more accurate
